Learning Support Assistant – Thurrock
Vision for Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Thurrock from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and helping them reach their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide engaging and effective support to pupils across the school.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils.
- Assist the class teacher with the delivery of engaging learning activities.
- Support pupils with their academic, social, and emotional development.
- Help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
- Encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.
- Support classroom management and maintain a safe environment for all pupils.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and parents where appropriate.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about working with children and supporting their development.
- Patient, caring, and approachable.
- Confident in building positive relationships with pupils.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proactive, adaptable, and willing to get involved in school life.
- Experienced working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting.
Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, or in a similar role is desirable, although we would also welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable experience.
