Year 3 Teaching Assistant (Level 2 Minimum) – Full Time – September 2026 – April 2027
Billingham – £92.56 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Vision for Education is seeking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic Year 3 Teaching Assistant to join our successful supply team and work within a welcoming two-form entry primary school in Billingham.

This is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday during school hours. The successful candidate will work as a general Teaching Assistant within a Year 3 classroom, supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging learning opportunities and helping pupils to achieve their full potential both academically and socially.

The role will commence in September 2026 and continue until April 2027.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications.

The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position is a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification. Previous experience supporting pupils within Key Stage 2, particularly Year 3, would be advantageous.

The Role

Working as part of a supportive and experienced staff team, the desired Year 3 Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality support across the classroom.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting the class teacher with the delivery of engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Working with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning.
  • Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
  • Supporting pupils with varying learning needs and encouraging independence.
  • Assisting with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and displays.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting the school's behaviour policy.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents where appropriate.
  • Contributing to the wider life of the school community.

The successful candidate will be patient, proactive, and passionate about supporting children's learning and development.

Requirements

To be considered for the Year 3 Teaching Assistant position, you will:

  • Hold a minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Have experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Have experience supporting pupils within Key Stage 2 (desirable).
  • Be confident supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
