Vision for Education are looking for a Trainee Teaching Assistant to work in schools across South Bristol. If you've worked in care, retail, hospitality, sports coaching, childcare, youth work or any role where you've supported people, your skills could transfer really well into the classroom.
No school experience is needed. We'll provide all the training you need through our National Teaching Assistant Programme before you start working in schools.
The role
You'll support teachers in the classroom, working with pupils on a 1:1 basis, in small groups and as part of the wider class. Depending on the school, you may support children with additional needs, encourage engagement with learning and help create a positive environment where pupils can thrive.
This is a 0-hour contract, offering flexible agency work, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position within one of our partner schools.
We're looking for someone who can commit to full-time availability, working 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time.
Requirements
To be considered for the role, you'll need to:
- Be enthusiastic about working with children and young people.
- Be reliable, patient and keen to learn.
- Have good communication skills.
- Be available full-time (32.5 hours per week).
- Hold, or be willing to apply for, an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Be able to provide suitable references.
