About the role

Vision for Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Specialist to work within a primary school, supporting students with autism to achieve their academic and personal goals. This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional who is passionate about inclusive education.

The Role:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one and small-group support for students with autism, enabling them to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum while promoting independence, confidence, and active participation in their learning.
  • Foster the development of emotional regulation, social interaction, and effective communication skills through consistent guidance and encouragement.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND professionals, parents, and external agencies to ensure a coordinated and effective approach to student support.
  • Deliver and implement individualised learning and support plans that address each student's specific strengths and needs.
  • Monitor, assess, and maintain accurate records of student progress, contributing to reviews and ongoing development planning.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every student feels safe, respected, valued, and empowered to succeed.

  • Supporting each child to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally by adapting learning approaches and support strategies to meet their individual strengths, interests, and needs.

About you -

To be considered for the Autism Support Specialist role, you will:

Hold suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.

Have strong communications skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students

Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
