Vision for Education are recruiting for 3 x Support Workers on a full-time basis for a specialist SEN school just outside Lymington, starting ASAP.

About the Role

Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? Do you have the patience, resilience, and empathy to help young people overcome challenges and achieve their full potential? If so, we would love to hear from you.

As a Support Worker, you will provide tailored support to pupils aged 4-11 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many pupils may also have associated needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, anxiety disorders, and communication difficulties.

You will work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to support pupils both inside and outside the classroom. Your role will focus on promoting emotional wellbeing, encouraging positive behaviour, building confidence, and helping pupils engage with their learning in a safe and nurturing environment.

Every day is different, and you will play a key role in helping pupils develop essential life skills, build positive relationships, and experience success both academically and socially.

We are looking for individuals who are positive, caring, and able to build strong relationships with children who require additional support to access education.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Support Worker, you will:

  • Desirable: Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, Level 2/3 Early Years Educator, Health & Social Care, or equivalent qualification.
  • Desirable: Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Ideally have experience working with children or young people with SEND, SEMH, ASC, ADHD, or behavioural needs.
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Be able to support pupils through periods of emotional dysregulation and challenging behaviour.
  • Be confident using de-escalation techniques and promoting positive outcomes.
  • Be resilient, patient, empathetic, and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Be passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable young people.

Vision for Education is committed to safeguarding children, young people, and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service.
