About the Role

Vision for Education are looking to recruit a full-time Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Key Stage 1 (KS1) within a primary school in the DL5, Darlington area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, reliable, and dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting young learners. You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils' learning, development, and wellbeing within a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in working with children in KS1 and will be confident supporting pupils both individually and in small groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and age-appropriate KS1 lessons.
• Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
• Support children with their reading, writing, phonics, and numeracy development.
• Assist with the preparation of classroom resources and activities.
• Help promote positive behaviour and maintain a safe, supportive classroom environment.
• Support pupils with additional needs where required.
• Encourage pupils' confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
• Contribute positively to the wider school community.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with children, particularly within a primary school or educational setting.
• Experience supporting children in KS1 is desirable.
• A patient, caring, supportive, and proactive approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are desirable but not essential.
• Availability to work full-time.
